Transponder Keys
Keys for cars these days are getting more complex and
expensive to buy from the car dealers. Many keys have
Remote buttons built into the head of the key. Some have
Flip out key blades and Keys that are milled out and cant be cut
on a regular key cutting machine. Some have no key at all
and just work on a proximity signal.

However your car key looks it will have a transponder system
that your car computer will have to recognize before it will
switch on essential systems. The transponder key works on
a challenge - Response system. The car sends out a
signal to the key and the the key will send back a response
signal to tell the car weather or not it is the correct key.
Many of these keys can be duplicated. There are two
main ways to duplicate these car keys. One is to clone the
chip. When cloning an exact copy of the code on the chip
inside the key is made and transferred to a new key. The
second way is to program the car computer to accept a new key.
Some cars are made to do this easily by performing a sequence of
steps inside the car. Some cars require a diagnostic
device to be connected to program a new key.
